The snow-making has begun on Mt. Werner. Now, when the temperatures reach below 24 degrees, you can see white plumes covering much of the ski mountain. Crews are now on standby 24 hours a day so they can accumulate as much snow on the mountain before opening day. Now only 27 days away, the excitement is building for opening day. Hopes are high that along with the artificial snow, enough storms will blow through to get the mountain open from top to bottom on opening day. The Steamboat Pilot comments that their goal this year is for the Christie Peak Express to be open on November 25th. I know I am beginning to get excited for ski season, which is now just around the corner.
