Ski Magazine Loves One Steamboat Place
Posted on February 15th, 2010 by SteamboatReal in One Steamboat Place, Ski-In/Ski-OutA beautifully written article written in Ski Magazine describes the changes to the base area in Steamboat and the impact One Steamboat Place’s construction has on Steamboats overall personality. Traditionally known for embracing our ‘rustic charm and genuine mountain ranching community’ the author was initially hesitant to change her perception of Steamboat.
Deborah Williams describes how a week before her visit ‘Resort Manager Ellie McAtee—more den mother than concierge—called to ask what pre-arrival logistics we’d like her to arrange. She offered to stock the refrigerator with groceries, make dinner reservations, book ski lessons or coordinate an airport transfer. She could even arrange for a private chef to prepare Christmas dinner in our condo.’
Once she arrived she was impressed with the ‘plush couches and distressed leather chairs overflow with pillows; a mix of eclectic furniture, artwork and antiques imbue each room with ambience that is unmistakably Steamboat.’
Concluding the author states that staying at One Steamboat Place she no longer feels like she is betraying Steamboat’s legacy. ‘Rather I am embracing its evolution.’ A well phrased conclusion describing the positive changes that are occurring in Steamboat.
